Eco-Web Ecological Consulting Ltd. offers a full spectrum of environmental services to the energy sectors (oil and gas, hydroelectric, wind), transportation sector and government in northeastern British Columbia. Eco-Web specializes in pre-development environmental assessments, fish and wildlife research, wildlife mitigation planning, environmental construction monitoring, reclamation and natural restoration and wildlife management during emergency spill responses.

Eco-Web is currently looking to fill the following full-time positions in our Fort St John office;

 

Intermediate Biologist / Avian Biologist / Project Manager – we are seeking an experienced biologist to be part of a multidisciplinary team looking after ecological, avian, fish and wildlife-based projects.  Experience will be needed in wildlife mitigation planning, wildlife assessments, fish/stream surveys, breeding bird surveys and nest mitigation / monitoring, wildlife research, and environmental monitoring. A strong background in project management is necessary.  The Biologist will complete technical reporting, mitigation planning and fieldwork, with the ability to work long hours in the field under difficult conditions.  The candidate should have a minimum of 5-10 years’ experience and a BSc or MSc in biology or similar qualifications and experience. Registered Professional Biologist standing is necessary for this position.  This is a full-time salary plus position with benefits.

 

Reclamation Specialist – Eco-Web is looking for a motivated soil and vegetation professional to help manage our reclamation projects in northeastern BC. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in soil and vegetation assessments, Schedule A and B Assessments to fulfill OGC/ALC requirements, submission of non-farm use applications to both the OGC and ALC, agricultural reclamation methods, ecological restoration techniques, topsoil stripping and replacement, erosion and sediment control, slope stability techniques, heavy equipment supervision, and wellsite and pipeline construction knowledge. The ideal candidate will have a minimum 4-6 years’ experience, a strong background in project management, a minimum BSc degree and this position requires membership in the BC Institute of Agrologists as a Professional Agrologist. This is a full-time salary plus position with benefits.

 

Environmental Inspector/ Qualified Environmental Professional - experience in environmental monitoring of construction projects, lease, access road and pipeline construction, wildlife management, wildlife mitigation planning, stream crossings, topsoil stripping and replacement, erosion and sediment control, slope stability techniques, heavy equipment supervision and revegetation (seeding, willow staking, tree planting) with a minimum of 5-8 years’ experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field. RPBio, PAg, EP or CPESC standing is required. This role can be either a full timed salary position of a subcontract position but would be based upon the individual.

 

All positions are based out of Fort St. John and applicants are expected to be based locally for this work.  Employee versus subcontractor designation will be at Eco-Web’s discretion and subject to negotiation.  Compensation is dependent on experience.
