Talisman looked to drill an exploratory natural gas well adjacent to the Graham River in northeastern British Columbia. The ideal well location was in the middle of a proposed caribou movement corridor for the Graham Herd of Northern Caribou. In order to drill the well and mitigate the Ministry of Environment’s concerns, Eco-Web prepared a Wildlife Mitigation Plan to cover the construction, drilling and pipeline tie-in of this location. Eco-Web also actively monitored the entire development, recording wildlife activity, providing education and recommendations to on-site personnel and dealing with issues in an iterative manner, so as to adaptively manage this project and minimize the impact on this declining caribou herd.
