Coastal Gaslink Hydrometric Surveys

During 2022 and 2023 Eco-Web provided real time hydrometric data during the construction of the Coastal Gaslink (CGL) Pipeline in Kitimat BC.  Within this area the CGL pipeline traversed over some rugged coastal mountains.

The streams and rivers that initiate with these mountainous areas and flow down through the valleys are extremely  “flashy” due to their rapid changes in water flow, particularly after precipitation or melt events.  Eco-Web professionals worked directly with the construction company and completed hydrometric surveys at all the watercourse crossings to provide accurate real time water quantity data for construction practices.

This information was critical to ensure the correct isolation methodology of the watercourse crossings was selected and adequate pumping power was obtained so the waterflow could be controlled during pipeline installation.
