Eco-Web biologists completed fish inventory sampling in the summer and fall of 2025 to support a clients Water License Application. Due to the lack of site-specific fish inventory at the proposed water withdrawal location, Eco-Web completed fish sampling to determine the fish species present at the specific location during two different seasons. This information was used to establish and recommend specific mitigation measures for the water withdrawal activities to ensure fish and fish habitat protection.
During the summer sampling event Eco-Web biologist captured 121 fish which comprised of eight different species and during the fall sampling event a total of 35 fish were captured which comprised of four different species. The fish species captured during the sampling events included Trout Perch, Flathead Chub, Lake Chub, Longnose Dace, Redside Shiner, Walleye, Spoonhead Sculpin, and Longnose Sucker. One surprising catch was a 390mm long Walleye which was a larger fish than anticipated to be utilizing the sampled area.
